In Palm Beach County and many other South Florida areas there are “Prohibited Application Periods” for fertilization that include:

• During a Local Weather Service Flood Watch or Warning
• During a Tropical Storm Watch or Warning
• During a Hurricane Watch or Warning
• If Two Inches of Rain or More is Expected to Fall Within a One-Day Period

It is also prohibited to fertilize within ten feet of a water body.
